Isaac Newton is known as one of the greatest scientists in the world, since he was so experienced in multiple fields of science. Except, Newton is best known for his works in optics, physics, and mathematics. Some of Newton's first works were in optics, while he was studying optics, he was able to create multiple versions of a reflecting telescope. Furthermore, Newton continued in optics only to create the theory of color that he had experimented with a prism, discovering that white light is made of a spectrum of colors. Since Newton was the professor of mathematics at the University of Cambridge, he began to experiment in mathematics with Gottfried Leibniz. Both men would eventually share credit for their development of calculus, and Newton would develop a method for finding the roots of a function. Newton's Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica was Newton's intricate, and detailed philosophy of what he believed after his works in science. The Principia included Newton's laws in mechanics which are the laws of motions in, that described 3 relationships of forces acting on an body and the motion that is created because of the force. Newton's first law of motion states that an object in motion tends to remain in motion unless acted on by an outside force, this law is the law of inertia. Since inertia says an object resting will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion. The second law states that a force is equal to the change in momentum during the change in time, and a constant mass, has a force that equals the mass times acceleration. Finally, Newton's third law states that for every action, there will be an equal and opposite reaction. Newton's laws of motions and law of gravitation were some of his laws that were described in his Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica. The Principia includes Newton's theory that was combined of the ideas of Copernicus, Galileo, and Kepler. It also explained Newton's laws of motion, Newton's law of universal gravitation, the foundation of classical mechanics, and the law of planetary motion created by Kepler. Newton's Principia basically expresses the motion of massive bodies such as the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun. Overall, Sir Isaac Newton's greatest achievement was his discovery and law of gravity. With his universal law of gravitation, Newton was able to explain to people the motion of the planets and their elliptical orbits in the solar system. It said that every object in the universe is attracted to every other object by a force, called gravity. This furthermore explained that the Sun was at the center of the solar system, and that the planet's motions were involved with the Sun. This new law gave a new picture to the universe, and how it functioned. Newton's law now gave the picture of the universe being one huge, uniformed machine that functioned from natural laws. Sir Isaac Newton is known as one of the greatest scientists of all time, because of his laws, and theories in multiple science fields such as physics and mathematics. After all of Newton's discoveries and advancements, he would get rid of all doubts of the heliocentric theory, Newton would also help advance people in the Scientific Revolution and Age of Reason.
